Self-released
album from Paris based Goth band, be prepared to wrap yourself
in black and red velvet as these retro sounds take hold. There
is a definite whiff of patchouli oil and all things eighties
about Zorch Factor, dark throbbing basslines with crystal
guitars and suitably deep, dark vocals that hark back to the
days of The Batcave. Luckily they do it very well despite a
slightly tinny production and manage to drop in hints of post
punk and psychobilly to keep it upbeat and interesting; if you
like wearing black and have a penchant for black mascara and
waving your hands in a mystical way while dancing you are going
to love this happy lot. I happen to love them and reckon with a
decent recording they would sound immense and give some of the
more established Goth bands a run for their money.
